Abstract
This paper analyses some aspects of two literary incarnations of the figure of Cassandra: that of Aeschylus, in his Agamemnon, and that of the still unpublished pièce of Ruggero Cappuccio, Resurrexit Cassandra. The research aims, namely, at exploring the tragic features of both, as well as the interaction between word and silence in their speeches, especially where sound patterns and phonemic clusters are involved. It also aims at enquiring to wich extent sound-patterns can constitute an aural marker of Cassandra’s distancing from her interlocutors and of her tragic loneliness.
